Cockeye is a kid from Ohio, who discovered the true American art of REAL BBQ after attending culinary school in Charleston, South Carolina.

In 2001 Erik Hoover started slow smoking pork out of a makeshift smoker he welded together in the     backyard.  A few years later – Cockeye BBQ was born in a KCBS competition field in southern Ohio. Now, we are bringing Cockeye’s award winning barbeque ribs, pulled pork, chicken and brisket home to Warren.

Backyard parties and catering led us to this:

From the beginning, Cockeye has always been about authentic barbecue.  We don’t cut corners because there is no shortcut to great barbeque. We believe that barbecue done right is a tribute American     ingenuity. We understand it’s time, spice and love that work to create our signature flavors.

At Cockeye BBQ we choose to use high quality meats and source locally as much as we can.  Our traditional barbeque is hand rubbed with our custom spice blend and smoked on site over hardwood for up to 14 hours.  All of our sides are scratch made from family recipes and start with real, raw ingredients.  We want to cook this way because it is what we believe in.  You can feel confident knowing we put in the time so you don’t have to.  Cockeye BBQ is slow food… fast – from our family to yours.
